And so the first stage of the journey to become the Phoenix Fashion Week emerging designer of 2016 has come to a close. Now back home in the Cayman Islands after a fun but challenging last few days at #designerbootcamp, it's a good opportunity to reflect on why I chose Phoenix Fashion Week as I begin to plan my 4-month fashion marathon.
Isy B., having been around for the last 2 seasons is ready to progress to the next level, and I've always believed in learning quickly and taking focused action in order to move forward. In this respect, Phoenix Fashion Week's purpose is very much in line with mine.
Phoenix Fashion Week is the leading fashion industry event in the Southwest. Its core purpose is to build sustainable brands from the ground up while pushing the Arizona fashion industry forward. The organization’s mission is 'Bridging Designers & Buyers' through three pillars of fashion, education, and community. Through educational fashion seminars, year-round fashion events and charitable partnerships, Phoenix Fashion Week continues to gain rapid acclaim for its community service efforts and for infusing world-class innovation into the Southwest.
The next 4 months will be spent looking at Isy B. as a brand and fine tuning it ready for the Phoenix Fashion Week big finale and runway show this October. Every challenge is designed to move the Isy B. brand forward and I'm looking forward to working with a group of talented designers from around the world with the same goal of building our dreams.
