A Peek Into the Visual World of my New Storyteller Collection

I can’t believe it’s here already! The new collection is complete and a new story is about to join the Magical World of Isy B.. I’m so excited to share my latest creative adventure with you. If you’ve been here for a while, you already know that Isy B. is a complete experience - a blend of sound, visual art, and storytelling that has become Isy B.’s design signature.

This year, I’ve drawn my inspiration from the deep roots of Cayman Islands life. The new story features the silver thatch tree, our national tree. I’ve always been fascinated by the history of the tree, especially in the context of Cayman’s culture and craftsmanship, but also by the resourcefulness and resilience of the early settlers who found ways to use this natural material to support their survival. 

But how did the early settlers discover the gifts of the silver thatch tree? 

My creative imagination couldn’t resist dreaming up a fable that answered that question. And that, my friends, is where the journey of this collection began!

The new story is something I’ll let you discover once the collection arrives. In this new collection, you’ll be able to see the connections between the silver thatch traditions, fabric print design, and the story narrative.

Translating inspiration and ideas into fabric print designs in the collection is exactly my jam. This is where I roll up my sleeves and let the creative energy take over. Deciding on the colours is part art, part science and a total labour of love. I would describe the new print palette as more earthy tones with splashes of warmth colours for uplifting energy.

The principal print begins as a beautiful piece of art which I adapt for the design of each garment. I then select colour tones and my favorite elements from the principal print to create secondary print designs that can coordinate with the main print in the collection. This makes each Isy B. piece easier to mix, match, and build into a wearable fun capsule wardrobe that never feels boring. 

This collection is about more than just fashion or another accessory. I hope it feels like your personal talisman… a way to carry the island spirit into your everyday life. 

We’re launching the new Storyteller Collection on December 5th 2025. It will first be available to shop online at www.isybdesign.com and at selected boutiques on the Island.
