Cayman Fashion Week 2015 was a huge success for us. The audience response and feedback were phenomenal.
Presented by Nigel Barker, photographer and fashion A-lister, and Grace Gealey star of hit TV show "Empire", the event held in George Town, Grand Cayman on April 25th, 2015 attracted a 1000-strong crowd of Cayman's fashion elite.
Back stage, the Isy B. team dressed 12 models in the Spring Summer 2016 collection, for its first unveiling before the world. Working with international stylists; Memsor Karamake, personal stylist to US talk show presenter Wendy Williams, and Carlton Jones whose celebrity clientele includes Mary J. Blige, Halle Berry, Michelle Obama, and Sean Diddy Combs, and our very own Isy B. stylist Marguerette Isabel added that final finishing touch to the looks. We were honoured that the Isy B. collection was selected to open the show, and the audience loved every minute of it. Check out our video of the audience response to the runway show.
The collection entitled "Migration" is inspired by the Cayman Islands lifestyle ranging from elegantly casual lifestyle separates to contemporary sophisticated evening wear, all bearing the Isy B. signature of modern feminine silhouettes, versatility, ease crafted from beautiful fabrics.
A custom print designed exclusively for the collection and also titled "Migration" was a crowd favourite. Featuring the turquoise blues and vibrant corals found in Cayman's natural land and seascapes, it also incorporates a contemporary tribal element representative of the diverse cultural mix of the islands. The bold graphic print flowing on the runway in fluid chiffons and crepe de chine, provided a strong visual statement. This contrast of structure and softness is mirrored through out the collection providing balance and interest to classic silhouettes.
