I was honored to be invited to undertake my first design collaboration for the recent Moving Art for ARK charity event with internationally acclaimed artist Avril Ward, and designer Laura Anderton. The brief was interesting and inspiring, our task was to create art that moved in the form of a gown and it was to be modeled by yours truly and auctioned at the event. Our inspiration for the gown was Gustav Klimt, his portraits of strong women during his gold phase, featuring decadent modern goddesses, clean lines, highly ornate decoration. The hand-painted silk gown featured hand-sewn Swarovski crystal embellishments, a leather collar, and the luxurious touch of obsidian beads draped down the back. We were delighted with the positive audience response to the gown. Thank you for making my first collaboration such a success!
